Set up a crypto wallet
A personal wallet is optional — most customers pay directly from an exchange app. Use this guide if you'd rather hold your own crypto first.
Steps
- Choose a wallet app. Install a reputable self-custody wallet app from your device's official app store.
- Create a new wallet. Follow the app's setup flow to generate a new wallet.
- Back up your recovery phrase. Write down your recovery (seed) phrase on paper and store it somewhere private and secure. Never type it into a website or share it with anyone.
- Fund your wallet. Buy crypto through an exchange and send it to your wallet's receive address, or purchase directly into your wallet using a card-based on-ramp like MoonPay.
- Send your payment. From your wallet, send the exact amount to the address on your invoice.
Protect your recovery phrase
Never enter your wallet's recovery phrase on any website, including aapollogroup.tv. We will never ask for it. Anyone asking for your recovery phrase is attempting to steal your funds.
Crypto wallet FAQ
Do I need a crypto wallet to pay?
No. You can pay directly from an exchange app like Shakepay or Cash App, or buy crypto with a card through MoonPay. A personal wallet is only needed if you prefer to hold your own crypto.
What is a recovery phrase and why does it matter?
Your recovery phrase is the only way to restore access to your wallet if you lose your device. Anyone who has it can access your funds, so never share it or enter it on a website.
